"Lost Island Asylum”
Haunted Woods Hayride 2014The weekend event was attended by 1400 people
Here are just some of the reviews found on Ma Haunted Houses website:
A good scare for a good cause!
This charity event was well thought out and executed perfectly. As you go thru each scene, the details and script are well done. Each wagon ride has a storyteller to set the scene and tell the story of the Lost Island Asylum. Especially liked the cornfield "come to life" scarecrows and the scarecrow on stilts. Scenes were well illuminated, yet maintained that eerie, spooky feel. The actors were well costumed and rehearsed. The only downside were the long lines to get on the wagons. This Grafton Lions Club event has become extremely popular with families and is a bargain to boot! Highly recommend!
Very Scary!
"Very scary great for the whole family. All the different scenes are so different from each other.. Going from poopie Pattie then the corn field is so scary, she really stinks. That tall scare crow is great. The chains omg scary and the make up unbelievable (make up artist awesome)then the light up ghost great idea. Then you got the crazy guy calling my name freaky. Just great. Can't wait till next yr. Great job!!"
WOW!
"Absolutely loved this hayride. It was so meticulously put together with a narrator telling you the story of each scene. The actors were great. This was my second year and it was better than the first. Kudos to The Grafton Lions Club and all the actors. I cannot wait for next year to see what they have up their sleeves. Can't beat the $10. admission and it was better than some other more expensive haunts."
Great event!
"Great event well organized with tons of scary excitement. It's nice to know that all of the actors and crew volunteered no one on the whole event was paid. A great opportunity for a number of different civic organizations. It was great to see three Boy Scout troops and a venture crew involved. I would highly recommend this ride for next year"
Scary Fun!
"Great ride, worth the wait. Ride is about 15 min long. It tells a whole story about crazy people stuck in an old abandoned asylum. They have the jilted bride, shock therapy, demented doctors, nurses and patients, zombies, children of the corn, ghosts, open graves, scary chain saws, etc. Lots of screaming and great fun. Definitely recommend."
Crazy!
Not just a hayride....they give you whole story to go along with every part. Actors come up to side of truck, lots of screaming, chain saws, the whole package. Very well done.
Best Hayride Ever!
"Even better than ever! Everything has so well done, the make up was awesome! I wonder how they got those faces to look like they were peeling off! It was a great ride, and the place had such a fantastic atmosphere. I hope they do it again next year!"
Spooktacular Hayride!
"I'm from a neighboring town and found out about this hayride on this website. Went with my fiance last night (10.24.14) - couldn't have been more satisfied! For $10 ($9 with a student ID) you can't go wrong. I was thoroughly surprised as this was a production of the Grafton Lions Club which you'd normally think would be a small 5 minute ride, nothing too special as this isn't done by professional haunters like most Halloween attractions. This was extremely well coordinated - including a snack bar (everything's $1), while you wait in line there are several people dressed in costume (skeletons and a Tor Johnson-esque zombie) that linger around and interact with you. They also play Halloween themed music while you wait on a sweet Peavey speaker. Once the ride gets started it's 20 minutes of a well choreographed and detailed experience including someone on the tractor with you speaking a scripted commentary that fits the ride perfectly. Whomever planned this ride showed serious talent and passion creating the set pieces and costumes. When most haunted attractions are in the upper $20+ range it's great to have this inexpensive gem so close to home. I'm looking forward to it again next year!"
